Volunteer to Stay Healthy and Help Newfield's School Gardens!
You've probably heard about, or even experienced, the great feeling that comes with doing volunteer work. Many people report that supporting a favorite cause provides a sense of fulfillment and satisfaction. Studies have found that doing good deeds plays a role in physical well being as well as providing special and emotional benefits.
Participating in volunteer activities is good for people of all ages. Volunteering as a family is a great way for children to learn social responsibility and for parents to model behaviors that demonstrate their values.
Why not explore volunteering as a way to support a cause, connect with others and reap some potential health benefits-a win for everybody!!
Join us on Saturday, May 21st for Community Build Day from 10am-2pm to weed, mulch, plant and build at Newfield's three beautiful school gardens. Volunteers will be fed delicious food and appreciated in abundance. Sign-ups are very appreciated so we know how much food, tools, etc we'll need but no one will be turned away! There will be a sign-in tent on the front lawn. For more info, to sign up and/or to lend tools please contact Andrew Battles at  If you're unable to attend please consider donating to the NCS Green Fund to support continued garden programming. Donations can be sent c/o The Business Office, 247 Main Street, Newfield, NY 14867.
