Good Evening,

We were notified late this afternoon that Newfield CSD has a positive case of COVID-19.  Please know I have been working diligently with the Department of Health and following the guidelines.  Due to the number of staff that will be quarantined, and the need to disinfect all buildings, the entire NCSD will go to full remote learning on Monday, 11/16, Tuesday 11/17, and Wednesday, 11/18.  This includes all BOCES programs and New Visions students.  No students should report to the buildings or programs, as they are all remote. This is a district decision made with an abundance of caution for our students, faculty, and staff.

There will be limited staff in the buildings for the next 3 days but all employees will be reachable via email.  As always, I can be reached via email or through the District Office.  The District Office will be open for calls if needed at 607-564-9955.

I apologize for the inconvenience this may cause your families, however the leadership team feels this is the safest option for our district.

There will  be a food pick up for all virtual learning students on Wednesday from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m.  If you are in grades 6-12 and in the Monday/Tuesday cohort or a K-5 student missing meals Monday through Wednesday, you may pick up food on Wednesday between 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. as well.  If you need this added meal pick up please contact Robin Wood by Tuesday, 11/17, at 9:00 AM at,  Thank you and we are sorry for any inconvenience this has caused.

Please connect with your teachers or administration as needed over the next 3 days.  Instruction for all grade levels will follow the current teaching and learning schedule per our Remote Learning Plan sent to you back in October. Teachers have been asked to include this information in their Google Classrooms as well.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.  We will not let this stop the education of your students.  Please stay healthy and safe.

Eric Hartz

Acting Superintendent
