MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS OF THE MONTH

Perseverance means not giving up.  It is persistence and tenacity, the effort required to do something and keep doing it until the end, even if it is hard.

Students in the middle school have the opportunity to earn a monthly award by modeling perseverance.  Faculty members nominate students who they feel best embody this trait.  Due to the generosity of the Newfield Masons, winners are honored with a plaque in the middle school lobby and a $25 gift certificate from Barnes and Noble.

The winners for September are:

6th Grade:
Arthur Hardison – Arthur is a student who can be counted on.  He works hard and is always willing to help his peers.  He contributes to the classroom in a positive way and is not afraid to share his ideas.  He demonstrates perseverance on a daily basis by meeting challenges with determination and a positive attitude.

7th Grade:
Brooke Tyskewicz – Brooke is an exemplar of what a positive role model looks like in 7th grade.  She goes above and beyond in class and she never settles for mediocrity.  Brooke is an outstanding young woman and she deserves to be recognized for her perseverance, work ethic and overall attitude.

8th Grade:
Kayla Place – Kayla does an excellent job every day.  She has a strong work ethic, participates actively in class, and is helpful and supportive of her classmates.  It’s a pleasure working with Kayla.
