All Children Can Learn!
Newfield Prekindergarten Program
The Newfield CSD Board of Education realizes the importance of providing a quality early education to every student. Research clearly states that children who participate in a high quality early education program have a higher incidence of school and career success. The Newfield Central School District offers free full day Pre-Kindergarten to every child living within the district who is four years old by December 1st or is otherwise eligible to attend kindergarten the following year. A child who is age-eligible to attend kindergarten is not eligible for the UPK program.
The Pre-Kindergarten Program operates Monday through Friday 7:40 am to 2:50 pm and follows the Elementary Calendar for the most part. Wrap-around care is available before and after our Pre-Kindergarten school day.
Newfield is committed to providing a high quality learning experience for all our students. The district uses the Common Core Learning Standards to gauge our students' progress. The Common Core Standards offer our children greater opportunities and aligns our efforts within school to increase our academic rigor. We strive to help all children achieve success. Our Board of Education Goals and the Common Core Standards create clear expectations for our students in the areas of reading, writing, speaking and listening, language and mathematics.
To register, please call the elementary office at (607) 564-9955 x 1145 or email Pam Scott. We will be in contact to administer the required screening after all of the necessary registration paperwork is complete.
